Sorry I was out of the country for a week.
I tried to simplify it. The setup no is as following: I still kept the power supply like it was before because thats crucial for my project. But i trough out the hub and have only one flash drive connected.
The connection between ID and Ground looks as shown on the picture ( I know that this isnt the best solution but because I only need the edison as a master I have no need to switch back to slave mode later on)
I checked the connection and it does work:
Here is the output when I do "ls /dev"
"lsusb" is still not working.
