Although not yet used the NUC for work, by time of your last reply I had installed all of my usual Windows Apps, so to go backto reinstalling windows and Drivers from scratch seems a huge amount of rework just to get the Intel USB3 driver to work. Even though the driver version had not changed I thought to download the USB3 driver afresh, this time directly from the web to the NUC2820, wheras previously I had downloaded all the Drivers onto a pendrive and copied them onto the NUC via the USB3 port. This time it continued execution instead of just bombing out early, and I could see it in the MS Uninstall list. Although extremely rare, I have in past years noticed an executable program will download and partially execute without generating an error message. So I assume first copy of the program was corrupted, either during download, or when copying across the USB3 port - although non of the other drivers passing the same download/copy route gave no problem. So now no yellow flags, problem solved. Thank you for your help.
