We are currently using the AXX4SASMOD RAID controller with an Intel SR2612URR Server System (12 bays available for hot swapping disks) and want our system to access multiple drives via the raid controller which are 4TB in size.
We understand from a previous post (Re: AXX4SASMOD with 3 TB disk) that the RAID controller will not support drives larger than 2TB.
I have two Questions:
1) Assuming there is no other way to get this RAID controller to see disks larger than 2TB, Can anyone recommend an alternative card for our specific motherboard that will allow us to access these larger 4TB disks.
2) We will be using ZFS for RAID. Are we correct in suggesting a Compatible SAS controller that supports 4TB disks without RAID might be enough?
